Nothings too big or too small for my daddy…I’m at a baseball game and just a few minutes ago I was observing batting practice and began to pray in the Spirit…yes that I would catch a ball…kids ask their dads to help them catch a ball…I asked mine…after praying He told me where to move…I moved there…within a few minutes both guys standing close by left…a few minutes later I had my ball…thanks Daddy!!

Confrontation…part 2.

Adding to my “confrontation” blog entry from a few days back…I think we can best sum up our position on confrontation in one of two ways…according to Ephesians 4:15, we are to “speak the truth in LOVE”…we need to do both, TRUTH and LOVE…some speak Truth but not in Love only making more issues and helping others raise their defenses…other sway too far to what we think is the “LOVE” side (although sweeping our issues and other people issues under the rug isn’t really love at all)…I’ve met too many people who are too easily offended…these may be the most dangerous and potentially poisonous people on earth…the more easily you are offended the larger your “self” is…S.E.L.F. = Satans Exact Location Forever…the more pride you have….if one was to be truly “self”less there would be no “self” to offend…so, how easily are you offended? Getting back to speaking the truth in love and confrontation…it’s a rare thing to meet someone that balances the two well…I’ve met people that were good at speaking the truth and I’ve met people that were good at “loving”…although as one of you said, many times we must overlook an offense, which the Bible talks about is honorable…other times whether our issue or someone else’s (or both) we must meet it head on with truth and love so we can both be better for it and extract it from our lives…and of course in all of this “a friend loves at all times” Prov. 17:17 (I believe?)…a friend loves you despite your issues and but a friend also loves you enough to tell you your issues (in love). By the way, if you’re my friend, it’s open season, you can tell me my issues…but message them to me…haha. Love you friends,

Troy

ConFRONTation

I think one of the greatest needs in the lives of people today (including myself by the way) is learning the skill of healthy confrontation…most people don’t have a clue when it comes to their own issues, others issues concerning them, or issues that shouldn’t concern them at all… We either confront but are too abrasive; out of anger, hurt, defensiveness, and raw emotions and make the problem worse…or we confront but are too evasive; jumping around the issues not getting anything solved…or most commonly don’t confront at all or try like 4th graders to confront through others….Let’s learn how to “care”front each other…anyone willing to learn? Anyone have some advice or tips…I’m willing to learn…in the words of Adam Sandler in Billy Madison, “I’m here to learn, go on with the chlorophyll” By the way, this is one of the many things we’ll be learning this next year in Rooted Masters Commission! Yaah!! Finally I’ll be able to learn healthy confrontation while teaching it to others.

Power of One…more!

Unity may just be the most powerful force on earth…whether you believe in God or the Bible or not…you have to see this truth…but in one story in the Bible there was such unity in building the tower of Babel that even God realized how powerful man was when unified and had to stop them…Even God Himself exemplifies unity in the trinity as well as how He is united with us and decides to partner with us, and walk WITH us…Immanuel…God WITH us…not above looking “down” on us, beneath us, in front hurrying us, or behind, pushing us…but WITH us! But from the moment every child is born he/she struggles with this idea of sharing and working with others…in our house we have multiple spats each day where the words “mine” or “let me do it” or “I can do it all by myself” are heard; and then their are the kids…haha…just kidding…but seriously…God’s plan is for us to work together…young and old, Christian and non-Christian, red, and yellow, black and white…we can always do so much more together…I believe if anyone should be able to do this it’s Christians, but was reminded this week how far we have to go…As we are launching a new ministry “Rooted Masters Commission” we are seeking unity and to work not only outside our own church but outside denominational barriers and divides…3 different representatives of 3 different churches failed to see the point…one from a very large church going as far to say, “If we let you come to our church and talk to our students, they might go to your program, which may be better for them individually, but would be bad for our church.” This literally at first had me laughing then later broken at the state of “the church” as a whole in America today…God help us to be unified, to be kingdom builders and not individual ministry or individual church builders…help us to build up our families, friends, and co-workers…to do something for someone today that doesn’t benefit our “self” in any way at all.
